Madonna with Child and Saint Joseph – biscuit porcelain – Germany – circa 1900
Professionally shipped – more than 950 five-star reviews worldwide.
Large pair of religious sculptures in biscuit porcelain, executed as matching pendants. Mary is depicted standing with the Christ Child in her arms, while Joseph carries a large blooming lily spray. Both figures wear long robes with richly detailed pleats. The pedestals are adorned with a cherub and relief decoration. The white biscuit is complemented by light blue accents and fine floral decoration in blue and gold. With a height of about 53 cm, this is a strikingly large and uncommon pair.
Height about 53 cm per sculpture; biscuit porcelain with painting and gilded details, unsigned, both sculptures in excellent condition with no visible damage. Only minimal paint loss on Jesus’ left shoulder.
