Song Dynasty Female Musician Tomb Tile – 10th to 13th Century AD
A Song Dynasty terracotta tomb tile depicting a standing female musician in high relief, shown wearing a long pleated robe and holding a wind instrument before her chest. The figure retains visible remains of original pigment, including pink-red coloration on the sleeves and facial details, while the surface preserves extensive mineral concretions and burial deposits consistent with prolonged interment. The reverse bears an atelier mark in the form of a handprint, providing an unusual workshop-related feature associated with its production.
