Wooden sculpture of Mary with the Christ Child in her arms. Mary lowers her head to the child, who rests closely against her and holds a royal apple in his hand. The long cloak forms broad, flowing folds around the figure. The faces and hands are finely carved, with particular attention to the hair sections and facial features. Executed in the woodcarving tradition of Val Gardena in South Tyrol.
Height approx. 29 cm; carved wood with a warm brown finish, unsigned, in very good overall condition with light signs of aging.
