Description from the seller
Roman Bronze Ring with Large Oval Bezel – Roman Empire – 2nd to 4th Century AD
A Roman bronze ring formed with a slender rounded hoop expanding gradually into a large oval bezel. The bezel is presently heavily covered by stable mineral deposits and age-related surface encrustation, obscuring any possible original decoration that may once have been present. Its restrained construction, broad oval face and tapering shoulders are characteristic of personal rings widely worn throughout the Roman Empire during the later Imperial period. The extensive patina and mineral accretions give the piece a distinctly archaeological appearance consistent with prolonged burial.
Material: Bronze
Dimensions: 2.5 x 2.4 cm
Weight: 6.20 gr
Provenance: Acquired in Germany at an Auction House.
We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years. A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email.
