DESCRIPTION
Year of production of the model: 1998 (Carousel 1 Item No. 4404, prototype with copyright 1998 engraved on the underbody). An extraordinary and exceptional 1:18 scale die-cast model in a Limited Edition, produced by the prestigious American hobby company Carousel 1 (official model authorized by the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Hall of Fame Museum). The model faithfully reproduces the legendary Watson Roadster Leader Card "500" Special #3, driven by the famous driver Rodger Ward (with mechanic A.J. Watson) to the triumphant victory at the 1962 Indianapolis 500. Offered in the vivid and historic two-tone livery White / Red (white and red with period details). A true collector’s piece of the highest engineering: a side hood that can be unlocked/opened to reveal the powerful and meticulously wired Offenhauser 4-cylinder engine; detailed cockpit with racing instrumentation; chrome exhaust tubes visible and original flocked/transparent transport safety cover. A limited-edition specimen with the original metal nameplate applied to the underbody bearing the individual progressive number #6256. Complete with its original Carousel 1 Certificate of Authenticity, the presentation stand with a checkerboard/brick base, and the original complete transport-protective transparent box.
