Saint Anthony of Padua with Child – Ouro Artesania – wood – Spain – ca. 1960
Professionally shipped – more than 950 five-star reviews worldwide.
Beautifully carved wooden sculpture of Saint Anthony of Padua, depicted in a Franciscan habit with a cord around the waist. In his left arm he carries the Christ Child, seated on an open book.
The long cloak, broad cowl and folds of the habit are boldly carved. The wood is finished with a dark transparent patina, allowing the grain and the carving details to remain clearly visible.
Manufactured by Ouro Artesania in Spain, a workshop best known for its hand-carved wooden figures. At the bottom stamped “OURO ARTESANIA – MADE IN SPAIN” and numbered 116.
Height: approx. 30 cm. In good vintage condition with limited signs of aging and use. The lily that Saint Anthony held in his right hand is missing.
