Christ Child as Salvator Mundi – polychrome plaster – France – early 20th century
Professionally shipped – more than 950 five-star reviews worldwide.
Large sculpture of the Christ Child as Salvator Mundi, the Savior of the World. Christ raises his right hand in blessing and holds in his left hand the globe. On the chest stands the Christogram IHS, crowned with a cross. The long robe is decorated with stars and falls in wide folds to the globular pedestal.
Height 50 cm; polychrome painted plaster with gilded details, in reasonably good overall condition with signs of aging, paint loss and wear. Jesus' left arm has been repaired from a fracture at the wrist.
