Description from the seller
"A Genio Lumen" (The Light of Genius) Bronze Relief Plaque – After the Neoclassical Style of Antonio Canova
This cast bronze relief plaque is a reproduction of the famous work *A Genio Lumen* (The Light of Genius) by the Italian Neoclassical sculptor Antonio Canova.
The scene depicts a poet seated in contemplation while writing on a scroll; a winged "Genius" (or angelic figure) pours oil into a lamp, symbolizing divine inspiration and the light of wisdom. An owl—symbolizing knowledge—stands nearby, while a lyre and manuscripts represent art and erudition.
The piece features exquisite high-relief craftsmanship, with fluid drapery lines and finely rendered anatomical details; the surface displays a rich, antique-style bronze patina.
Dimensions: Width 27.5 cm, Height 20 cm, Thickness 3 cm. Weight: Approx. 2.1 kg.
Condition: Well-preserved; no cracks, dents, or signs of repair; the patina is intact.
Please note: Due to shipping restrictions, delivery to remote areas or outlying islands (including the Canary Islands) is not available. Shipping costs include all customs duties and clearance fees.
