Beautiful antique Igala statue from Nigeria. It has suffered the ravages of time and attacks by wood-boring insects. The piece is solid throughout, and no pests reside in it. The sculpture is well executed. The sculptor has managed to give life to his work. The face is expressive, serene and benevolent. The gaze is deep. A scarification adorns his face. It is a sensitive and powerful work. Beautiful old patina from use; it’s a piece that has lived. Sold as is, see photo. The arm is nailed on. An inventory number is visible at the base, 913. A beautiful piece of antique, authentic collection. Circa 1950.

Belle statue ancienne Igala du Nigeria. Elle a subi les outrages du temps et les attaques des insectes xylophages. L'ensemble et solide et aucunes bêtes n'y réside. La sculpture est réussi, maitrisé. Le sculpteur a su donner vie a son oeuvre. Le visage est expressif, serein et bienveillant. Le regard est profond. Une scarification orne son visage. C'est une oeuvre sensible et puissante. Belle patine ancienne d'usage, c'est une oeuvre qui a vécu. Vendu en l'état, voir photo. Le bras est cloué. Un numéro d'inventaire est visible au pied, 913. Une belle pièce de collection ancienne et authentique. Circa 1950.
