Finder - C.K.S. Tele Finder 8,5cm - 1950-1960

The Tele Finder 85mm external optical viewfinder, manufactured by C.K.S. of Japan, is designed specifically for 85mm telephoto lenses and is compatible with Leica L39 screw-mount rangefinder cameras. It's a classic third-party retro photography accessory from the 1950s.

The entire unit is made of metal, with the Tele Finder and C.K.S. logos engraved on the body. The 85mm frame line is marked on the front of the viewfinder. A distance adjustment ring at the rear, with scales from 2m, 3m, 5m, 10m to infinity, corrects for parallax in close-up shots—a key feature of this viewfinder. The metal hot shoe is robust and securely fastened, allowing direct mounting to the hot shoe of vintage rangefinder bodies.

The lens is clear, the internal 85mm frame line is intact, and the parallax adjustment mechanism operates smoothly with good tactile feedback. The metal casing shows slight wear from years of use, which is normal for older parts; there are no dents or deformations, and the lens is free of mold and scratches. These 1950s Japanese-made all-metal telephoto viewfinders are relatively rare and are popular collectibles for Leica rangefinder enthusiasts and vintage film collectors.
