Majolica Tile—Yellow Bird Decorative Motif in a Medallion—17th Century
Square tile in majolica / tin-glazed earthenware with a polychrome central scene hand-painted, depicting a stylized bird with antimony-yellow plumage, wings spread, surrounded by blue flowers and foliage.
The scene is enclosed within a double circular yellow and ochre border. The tile’s corners are adorned with a cobalt blue corollary motif (Corner motifs), designed to form geometric rosettes when assembling multiple tiles on an architectural panel.
