Wall clock - - Oak - 1850-1900 - Black Forest Yacht Clock

Large, deeply carved antique Black Forest wall clock or hunting clock, presumably oak. The clock dates from between 1880 and 1900.

The case features beautiful carving with a hound's head at the top, a hare on the left, a bird (probably a nutcracker) on the right, and hunting attributes (horn, bag and a gun) at the bottom.

The carved wooden dial has enamel cartouches, the original brass hands and a domed dial glass. The French 8-day movement runs for about a week and a half.

The clock is in very good working condition and comes with a winding key.

Warning: transport can affect the operation of a mechanical clock. In particular the pendulum swing (the irregular ticking of the clock) can be caused by this. It requires some knowledge to adjust it. The pendulum is removed for transport and will need to be re-attached.
