Description from the seller
Byzantine Bronze Ring with Pink Stone – 6th to 8th Century AD
A Byzantine bronze ring featuring a raised oval bezel set with a pink to reddish stone, probably garnet or coloured glass. The ring has broad shoulders decorated with simple incised geometric and circular motifs, while the surface preserves an attractive dark green archaeological patina with mineral deposits consistent with age. The stone remains set within its original-style bezel and displays visible age-related fissures, giving the piece a distinctive archaeological character. The robust construction and decorative treatment are characteristic of personal ornaments produced within the Byzantine world during the Early Medieval period.
