Ming Dynasty Sancai Warrior Guard – 14th to 17th Century AD
A Chinese Ming Dynasty sancai-glazed terracotta figure depicting a standing warrior guard, modeled in a formal protective stance and wearing elaborate armor with pronounced sculptural detailing. The figure preserves extensive areas of green, amber-brown and cream glazing, together with numerous mineral deposits and earthen encrustations across the surface. It is very well preserved and displays multiple visible signs consistent with prolonged burial, including surface accretions, mineralization and areas of weathering associated with long-term deposition underground.
