Large Polychrome Tin-glazed Tile – Stylized Floral Composition and Lilies – 17th / 18th century
Large square tile in tin-glazed earthenware with a polychrome decoration fired at high temperature (yellow, cobalt blue, green, manganese/ochre). The central motif unfolds a rich, symmetric floral composition bursting from a stylized blue heart, topped by a large blooming yellow flower, framed by forget-me-nots, carnations and bells. The four corners are adorned with stylized lily motifs rendered in blue, manganese and turquoise, designed to form a continuous panel when assembled.
