Byzantine Bronze Signet Ring with Geometric Engraving – 7th to 10th Century AD
A Byzantine bronze signet ring with a circular bezel engraved with a strongly linear geometric composition formed by parallel and intersecting incised strokes. The restrained decoration, simple hoop and integral flat bezel are consistent with rings produced in the Byzantine world during the Early to Middle Byzantine period, when geometric and abstract motifs were frequently used alongside religious and monogrammatic designs.
