Strong and beautifully designed: a Queen on rails
Once they were the queens of European railways: the four-cylinder express train locomotives from Saxony, Baden, Württemberg, Bavaria and also from Sweden. Inspired by the German rail stars, the Swedish State Railways (SJ) commissioned NOHAB between 1914 and 1916 to build eleven Pacific express locomotives of type F. These locomotives resembled in design the famous type C from Württemberg. In the design, Swedes also paid attention to the external beauty of the model with its streamlined driver’s cab. Soon the F-locomotives dominated the main lines Stockholm - Malmö and Stockholm - Gothenburg. However, these lines were electrified in the 1930s. The powerful locomotives eventually found a new home in Denmark from 1937. There they served as type E until the 1960s, and the Danish-rebuilt locomotives of the same type lasted a little longer. In their old homeland, Sweden, however, the imposing type F machines were never forgotten. In 1963 the Swedish Railway Museum bought back the former F 1200. In 1999 followed the F 1202. Today the perfectly restored locomotive can be admired in the Swedish Railway Museum in Gävle. Its colors evoke memories of its prototype, the queen of the railways from Württemberg, type C. Unfortunately the two majestic locomotives can never meet again, as all type C locomotives have been scrapped. Therefore only the Märklin model railway remains on which both queens can meet each other in style.

For example: Steam locomotive with tender type F 1200 from the Swedish State Railways (SJ). Contemporary model, as the locomotive is currently in service in Gävle.

Locomotive with tender largely built from metal. With digital mfx+ decoder with extensive light and sound functions. Regulated high-power drive with flywheel built into the boiler. One axle directly driven, two axles driven via coupling rods. With anti-slip tires. With alternating two-point front signal in direction of travel, analog in operation, switchable in digital operation. The lantern on the door of the smoke box is digitally controllable. In addition, the lighting of the driver’s cab and the flickering of the firebox can be controlled digitally separately. Lighting with maintenance-free warm-white and red LEDs (LED). Standard built-in smoke apparatus, analog in operation, digital switching. Adjustable freely swinging coupling between locomotive and tender. A freely swinging short coupling on the tender in NEM socket. Minimum permissible radius is 360 mm. Various loose parts such as steps, brake hoses, pipes and dummy screw couplings are included loose. Length over buffers 24.5 cm.
