Beautiful Silver 925 pendant, with azurite, chrysocolla, and malachite from Peru.

The azurite stone is a blue mineral formed by weathering in the upper oxidation zone of copper ore. Its name derives from the blue color of the stone. It was also used in the ancient world and during the Middle Ages as a pigment and colorant because it was valued for its beautiful range of blue colors and was very popular among painters in the Middle Ages.
Today it is still used as a color base for some paintings.

The chrysocolla stone owes its name to the Greek words "chrysos" meaning gold, and "kolla" meaning glue.

Malachite is a mineral whose name comes from the mallow plant, from the Greek malàhe which literally means "soft"; the reference is certainly not to the color of its flower but to that of its leaves, both for the shade and for the emollient substances derived from them.

It is mined in different shades of bright green, from lighter to darker, most visible in specimens with well-defined zoning and separated by white veins that create very suggestive designs.
