Antique Junghans table-/travel clock with alarm – Germany – ca. 1900–1915

Special antique mechanical table clock from the renowned German clockmaker Junghans, produced at the beginning of the 20th century.

The clock is housed in a richly decorated metal case on four graceful legs and fitted with a decorative carrying handle at the top. The front and side panels feature a warm yellow/gold-toned background with painted floral decorations and a bird motif.

Inside there is a fully mechanical Junghans movement. The movement clearly bears the characteristic historical Junghans logo with an eight-pointed star and the letter J.

The clock is equipped with multiple spring mechanisms and, in addition to the normal time display, has a strike/alarm mechanism. At the bottom of the case is the metal bell.

The Arabic dial has elegant black hands and a decorative center.

The item is in a clearly used, authentic condition with signs of age. The dial shows visible wear and damage to the decorative layer. The painted panels and metal case also show wear, discoloration, patina and localized damage. One of the side panels shows a visible crack/split.
