Background: on September 2, 1994, a special train from Luxembourg to Göppingen ran under the name "Modellbunn Express", hauled by CFL 1801. The train consisted of CFL Silberlinge and a "Rendez-vous" coach that had been equipped for video screenings. Upon arrival in Göppingen — Märklin’s site — the locomotive was christened and received the city’s coat of arms. Märklin later released this model as a special edition, based on the standard model 3466. Twenty units of the 1800 series were built for CFL in total; they were used for both freight and passenger traffic.
The model has a plastic body on a heavy metal underframe and is equipped with a DCM motor and a Delta decoder. The universal electronics allow operation in analog, Delta and Märklin Digital; the address and locomotive type are programmable on the decoder. Three-axle front light, alternating with direction of travel. Numerous added details, including steps and handrails on the ends. Length 22.6 cm, equipped with Märklin coupling hooks.
Delivered in the original Märklin packaging with cardboard sleeve and illustration, including the original manual (3466/83468) and the warranty certificate. Condition: the locomotive is in excellent, barely used condition. Paint and lettering are intact and crisp, the metal shields are complete and undamaged, and the added details on the ends are intact.
