Wall plate - 32 - Earthenware - BF plate, limited decor

This large wall plate or circular dish in glazed earthenware from the Art Deco period comes from the famous Belgian manufacturer Boch Frères Keramis, and features the Asian-inspired floral decoration titled Mikado, created under the direction of Raymond Chevalier.

This collectible centerpiece features a sumptuous and lush hand-painted floral decoration, showcasing large stylized peonies and chrysanthemums in vibrant shades of orange-yellow, cobalt blue, fuchsia pink, and meadow green. Each motif is enhanced with luminous gold accents and outlined with a black relief using the cloisonné technique, standing out beautifully against a deep chocolate brown background. The central decor is framed by a wide textured border in bronze-brown and highlighted by a double gold line. Underneath the base, the object features an exceptional set of original markings including the black stamp of a stylized parchment explicitly indicating that this exclusive pattern is part of a Decor Limited to only 250 copies worldwide, flanked by the factory initials BK, the handwritten monogram composed of the intertwined letters R and C which certifies the signature of Raymond Chevalier, the shape number 32 incised in the material, and the handwritten reference of the pattern D 2919 painted in black. The dimensions of this collectible earthenware are 23.5 cm in diameter with a total height of 5.5 cm. Its individual weight is 500 g, which also represents the total weight of this lot. The overall condition of preservation is very good, as the ceramic structure remains perfectly sound and sturdy. One notes light signs of wear and age as well as a few small glaze flakes and superficial chips located at the center of the orange and pink floral patterns, which are visible in the close-up photographs.
