RCL Design - Table lamp - Ambient Light Model 'Space Age/Pop Art' Wireless, 1970s - Metal

Rare example of Italian atmospheric Light Design produced by RCL Design, a brand of Italian local craftsmanship specialized in decorative accessories and lighting for the second half of the 20th century.

The pieces from this label, less commercial than the big mass-market brands, are today particularly sought after by collectors for their rarity and original design ideas.

The object stands out for its geometric cage-like structure, composed of curved lacquered metal slats in white that draw a sinuous and rounded silhouette. The form clearly draws inspiration from the organic and familiar lines of a classic teapot, here emptied and reinterpreted in a minimalist and pop style.

As visible in the detailed images, the lamp preserves on the body the sticker with the original red graphic logo of RCL Design impressed on it. This model is battery-powered (wireless), an avant-garde design solution that preserves the purity of the lines and eliminates the visual impact of electrical cables. Inside it houses a LED bulb with micro-filaments that diffuses a warm, intimate light with very low energy consumption.

Thanks to the complete absence of wires, this RCL Design creation is a nomadic piece of furniture, ideal both for highlighting a corner of the living area and for use in protected outdoor spaces. When temperatures become milder and the weather invites to prolong convivial moments outdoors, this lamp becomes the visual focal point of terraces, porticoes, or verandas. Placed among the glasses, its white grid structure projects onto surrounding surfaces a suggestive and hypnotic radial play of lights and shadows at 360 degrees. The result is a soft, relaxing, and sophisticated atmosphere that fixed lighting or classic candles exposed to the wind cannot replicate.
