Sitag - Office chair (8) - Leather, Steel

These chairs fell into my lap when I was buying a desk. The seller, a lawyer who had just retired, offered them to me for purchase at that occasion. I couldn't resist and snapped them up; unfortunately hastily, because my plans for their use collapsed, and now I stand here with these eight beautiful conference chairs, with neither space nor any idea how I could use them for myself.

The seller bought the chairs for the founding of his law firm and used them in his office until his retirement. Therefore, the time of their creation can be fairly well estimated as the mid-1990s.

The chrome-plated legs of the cantilever chairs seem solid; otherwise the chairs' substantial weight is hard to explain. The black leather shows some wear, but the stitching is like new, and given the high-quality Swiss manufacturer Sitag, the chairs will surely last another thirty years.
