Eight matching Art Deco drawer handles dating to circa 1920–1940, made of Bakelite-type material with metal mounting hardware, brown with cream marbling, each 13 cm wide, 5 cm high, 6 cm deep, weighing 69 g, from France, in good used condition with one handle missing its top nuts but threaded studs remaining and mounting hardware included.
Description from the seller
Rare set of eight matching vintage Art Deco drawer or cabinet handles, dating from approximately the 1920s–1940s.
The set consists of eight identical handles with a distinctive curved, cascading design characteristic of the streamlined Art Deco aesthetic. The handles have a striking brown and cream tortoiseshell or horn-like appearance, with subtle variation in the pattern of each individual piece.
The handles appear to be made from a Bakelite-type phenolic material, with original metal mounting hardware. Their design, colouration and construction are highly characteristic of period Art Deco furniture hardware.
The great attraction of this lot is the unusually large number of matching pieces. Finding eight matching vintage handles together is considerably less common than finding individual examples or small pairs, making this set particularly suitable for the restoration of an Art Deco cabinet, chest of drawers, sideboard or similar piece of furniture.
Condition
Overall in good vintage condition, with age-related signs of use consistent with their age.
The handles themselves appear structurally intact, with no major cracks or chips visible.
One of the eight handles is missing its two small top nuts/fasteners (last photo). The threaded studs remain present on this handle. The other seven handles retain their corresponding top fasteners.
The remaining original mounting hardware is included with the lot.
Please study all photographs carefully for the exact condition and completeness of the hardware.
