5 Leva commemorative coin minted in 1977 by the People's Republic of Bulgaria in honor of Petko R. Slaveikov, distinguished Bulgarian poet, writer, journalist, folklorist and political figure of the 19th century. The obverse features a highly realistic portrait of the intellectual, accompanied by his name and the dates of birth and death. The effigy is modeled with notable depth and detail, especially highlighting the facial features and the serene expression characteristic of official portraits of the era. The reverse shows the state emblem of the People's Republic of Bulgaria, with the heraldic lion surrounded by a wreath of ears and crowned by a star, together with the denomination of 5 Leva and the issue date. The surfaces exhibit an excellent proof finish, with deep mirrored fields contrasting with satinized reliefs, creating a high-quality visual presentation.
