Coin of 20 Sen with detailed and symbolic design, where the obverse features a ceremonial altar from which rays emanate, evoking religious and traditional elements of the country, surrounded by inscription in Khmer script with ornamental stroke. The reverse combines colonial and local influences, with the French legend and the value in Khmer framed by a finely executed laurel crown. The specimen is in exceptional condition, with very intense original luster, virtually flawless fields and sharply defined reliefs, typical of a very high grade. Issued during the Kingdom of Cambodia under Norodom Sihanouk, it reflects a period of national identity and cultural heritage in Southeast Asia in the mid-20th century.
