An Artistic and Historical Tribute: The Dallas Parade Cine Camera (1963)
We offer at auction a unique and exclusive piece that blends the history of vintage cinema with the refined Florentine craftsmanship of restoration.
On November 22, 1963 in Dallas, the presence of President John F. Kennedy and First Lady Jackie spurred hundreds of citizens to buy or pull out of their cases their own cine cameras to capture that historic event. Historically, it seems there were about 38 cameras recorded among the crowd and witnesses along Dealey Plaza (including the famous Bell & Howell of Abraham Zapruder).
This exemplar — belonging to that generation of 8mm movie cameras spread in the USA in the early 1960s — has been transformed into a true pop-historical commemorative artwork.
The Restoration and Handcrafted Reinterpretation Work
The intervention was carried out in Florence by a master restorer with over 30 years of experience in the field of artistic restoration and the care of vintage memorabilia.
