Magnificent example of Bohemian glass art from the Art Deco period (circa 1930-1945). This vase is not only a decorative object but a pictorial work on crystal, crafted and signed by one of the specialized decorators from the Nový Bor area (Haida), the famous glass district of northern Bohemia.

Artistic Details and Manufacture
Grinding Technique: The upper edge features wide, cold-ground circular lenses (bull’s-eye). These concave surfaces act as optical prisms, refracting light and magnifying the scene below from several angles.

Enamel Decoration: The pastoral scene is executed freehand in white and gray relief enamel. The delicacy of the stroke depicts a shepherd with his flock in a landscape rich in vegetal details and rocks, typical of late Romantic Bohemian taste highly sought after by European collectors.

Body and Foot: The vase rests on a solid, flared base, with edges finished in gold enamel that elegantly frames the central painted section.
Condition
Excellent condition. The crystal is clear, without nicks, cracks, or restorations. The enamel is exceptionally well preserved, maintaining its brilliance and original relief. Slight patina of time on the base and minimal wear marks on the gilding of the edges, attesting to its originality.
