Qing Dynasty arcaizante jade vase with lid, carved in nephrite jade of pale celadon green, featuring Taotie reliefs and banana leaf neck pattern, a Fu dog sculpture crowning the lid, two mythical head handles holding loose rings, an oval flattened body with interior hollows, smooth base, 29 x 15 x 8 cm and 2.5 kg, in excellent condition from China.

Absolutely Fantastic Archaistic-Style Jade Celadon-Glazed Lid Vase from China, 19th/20th Century.
Chinese decorative vase with lid, entirely carved in jade (nephrite) of a light celadon-green tone with patina and natural brownish oxidation veins. Archaistic design inspired by ancient ritual bronzes. The lid is crowned by a detailed three-dimensional sculpture of a Fu Dog (guardian lion) and features a side handle with a small movable ring. The flattened oval body displays symmetrical reliefs with Taotie mask motifs and a vertical pattern of banana-leaf motifs on the neck. Flanked by two handles in the form of heads of mythical creatures, each holding a functional loose ring. Interior hand-carved with visible marks of traditional workmanship. Smooth oval base with no marks.
Excellent condition. Morphologically complete piece, retaining all original loose rings intact and functional.
