Description
Rare Coquelle casserole from Le Creuset, designed by the famous Franco-American industrial designer Raymond Loewy in the late 1950s. This iconic piece of post-war French design stands out for its modernist silhouette, aerodynamic lines, and its superb vintage yellow, paired with a black bakelite handle.
The presented model is the 3.5 version, with a capacity of about 3.5 liters, fully made of enameled cast iron. The interior is coated with cream enamel.

The Coquelle is one of Le Creuset’s most original creations. In 1958, the company tasked Raymond Loewy with modernizing the traditional casserole. The designer then imagined an oblong, fluid, and decidedly modern form, which has since become a reference in Mid-Century design. Le Creuset itself confirms that Loewy created the Coquelle in 1958.
Le Creuset, founded in Fresnoy-le-Grand in 1925, has become one of the world’s major references in French enameled cast iron. The brand still emphasizes today the continuity of its know-how around enameled cast iron.
