Description from the seller
Elegant and exclusive wine or liqueur carafe in precious transparent crystal, produced by the historic and renowned Saint-Louis Crystalworks (France). The object belongs to the famous model "Massenet", a great classic of the manufactory introduced between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, famous for the complexity and refinement of its workmanship. The body of the carafe is entirely hand-decorated with a rich geometric finish featuring dense motifs of stars and interlaced lozenges, designed to superbly refract natural light. The neck presents linear vertical facets, topped by an elegant original stopper coordinated with an ogive-cut. A detail of absolute historical and collector value is the presence of the number 64 engraved by hand both on the base of the stopper and on the neck/base of the carafe. This pairing number bears witness to ancient artisanal craftsmanship: each piece was ground individually on the respective neck to ensure a perfectly airtight and tailored closure. Details and Features: Manufacture: Saint-Louis Crystalworks (France)
Model: Massenet
Material: Crystal finely hand-cut
Distinctive elements: Handcrafted pairing number "64" corresponding on stopper and body
Era: First half of the 20th century
