Davenport writing desk in mahogany – Victorian era, late 19th century

A refined travelling or study writing desk of English origin, Davenport model, datable to the second half of the nineteenth century. Made of solid mahogany, it stands out for its lift-up slanted top that hides an internal cubbyhole with eight small drawers for stationery. On the right side it features four functional drawers, while on the opposite side are false drawers to maintain aesthetic symmetry. The upper riser serves as a pen holder, and the turned, carved legs complete the structure with elegance.

A compact piece with great charm, typical of Victorian English production, ideal for studies or antique-filled interiors. Authentic patina and original hardware.
