Beautiful English William IV library table or writing desk, crafted in gracefully figured rosewood. A particularly stylish piece from the period 1830–1837, with a rich yet restrained character.
The top features a striking grain and is finished with a profiled edge in which a floral inlaid leaf motif is incorporated. On both sides there is a drawer to the right; on the left there is always a false drawer, giving the furniture a nicely symmetrical overall appearance.
The table stands on an openwork base with elegant curved legs, placed on a clean lower rail. The claw feet are equipped with integrated casters. Between the legs is a double turned stretch, in the middle adorned with an acanthus leaf motif.
