The DB Class 50, one of the most successful German steam locomotives ever.
It is a versatile freight locomotive that, thanks to its light axle load, could also be deployed on secondary lines.
Up to 1944 as many as 3,141 units were built.
The BR 50 was designed by the Deutsche Reichsbahn and remained in service after the war with both the DB and the DR (East Germany).
