The Mamiya RB67 is one of the most iconic and respected medium-format cameras in the history of professional photography. Produced by the Japanese Mamiya starting in the 1970s, it has become renowned for its extraordinary image quality, extremely robust construction, and a highly versatile modular system. The name “RB” stands for “Rotating Back,” referring to the famous rotating back that allows swift switching from horizontal to vertical format without needing to rotate the entire camera.

The RB67 uses 120 or 220 medium-format film and produces large negatives, capable of delivering a level of detail, tonal depth, and photographic quality markedly superior to classic 35mm. The camera body is large, heavy, and very imposing, a characteristic that makes it instantly recognizable and especially loved in professional photographic studios.

The viewfinder, as can be seen from the photos, has missing parts. the shutter is missing.

Completely mechanical in its main versions, the Mamiya RB67 requires a slow and precise approach to photography. Every phase of the shot, from focusing to cocking the shutter, takes place manually, offering a very technical and engaging photographic experience. The built-in bellows also enable extremely accurate focusing, very useful for portrait, still life, and macro photography.
