Pair of Art Nouveau / Jugendstil Jars - Faïencerie de Fives-Lille, Gustave De Bruyn (1838–1916). Circa 1900 (Art Nouveau period).
Fine glazed pottery of barbotine type (majolica) with polychrome glaze in gradient shades of green and turquoise.
Bodies of organic form with pronounced reliefs of stylized floral motifs (peonies/anemones). The dynamic design of the two curved side wings integrates fluidly into the circular base.
At the base it features the intertwined monogram "DB" with an anchor engraved in relief (registered mark of the ceramist Gustave De Bruyn for his factory in Lille). Includes the model or series number engraved 1370.
Overall good condition, with the usual crazed glaze typical of aged pottery. It has two very small flaws noted in the photos.
