Description from the seller
Artemide Nessino – Black – Giancarlo Mattioli and Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti Città Nuova
Iconic Nessino table lamp by Artemide, one of the most recognizable projects of Italian design in the 1960s.
Designed in 1967 by Giancarlo Mattioli and by Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti Città Nuova, Nessino reinterprets in a more compact dimension the famous Nesso, transforming the characteristic mushroom shape into an object with strong sculptural character.
The project stems from research into the expressive possibilities of plastic materials, which in the 1960s represented one of the great innovations in design. The body and the diffuser are made of plastic, with soft, rounded forms that give the lamp its instantly recognizable appearance.
The black finish emphasizes the graphic character of the silhouette, creating an elegant contrast with the light diffused by the diffuser.
The particular shape of the lampshade allows the light to spread outward and downward, creating soft, diffused illumination.
Nessino is equipped with 4 E14 sockets and therefore allows you to freely choose the type and color temperature of the bulbs used.
An authentic example of Space Age and Pop language in Italian design, today regarded as a classic of 20th-century design.
