Description from the seller
Artemide Nessino – Red – Giancarlo Mattioli and Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti Città Nuova
Iconic Nessino table lamp by Artemide, one of the most recognizable projects of Italian design in the Sixties.
Designed in 1967 by Giancarlo Mattioli and by the Gruppo Architetti Urbanisti Città Nuova, Nessino represents a reinterpretation on a more compact scale of the famous Nesso, with the characteristic rounded mushroom shape that has become one of the symbols of Italian design of that era.
The project exploits the expressive possibilities of plastic materials, transforming an industrial material into an object with soft and organic forms. The body and the diffuser are characterized by a smooth surface and the typical bright red coloration, which gives the lamp a strong decorative character.
The particular shape of the diffuser allows the light to spread softly and diffusely, creating a pleasant and warm atmosphere on the base and in the surrounding environment.
Nessino is equipped with 4 E14 sockets, allowing the use of LED bulbs and freely choosing the desired color temperature and light intensity.
Its aesthetics, closely linked to the Pop culture and Space Age of the Sixties, has made Nessino an authentic classic of Italian design, still easily recognizable and sought after by enthusiasts today.
