Orfèvrerie Moderne - Cake server - Silverplated - 1900-1910 - Antique - Original box

Very handsome antique silver-plated dessert spoon, complete in its original box from the luxury shop Orfèvrerie Moderne in Paris. Made by a French silversmith around 1900 and beautifully decorated with, among other things, rocailles (shell motifs), elegant scrolling lines and graceful leaves (Acanthus leaves). On the spoon itself a detailed floral engraving, albeit with a bit of patina. Between the handle and the heel of the spoon blade a small bend, perhaps caused by use, and the usual scratches on the blade of the spoon, which are absolutely normal and unavoidable for a object this old.
I have not been able to detect a mark on the dessert spoon, probably worn away after all this time. This gives the following options for the maker: Boulenger, Christofle or Maison Cardeilhac (neighbors of Orfèvrerie) or the shop itself, which also employed excellent silversmiths.
The spoon is housed in the original box (dimensions 37x10.8x4 cm, total weight 370 grams). The clasp is missing and the box is a bit worn, but the interior has remained surprisingly beautiful.
A special and decorative luxury dessert spoon, still in very good condition, certainly given its age.
