Artemide Eclisse PVD Copper, iconic table lamp designed by Vico Magistretti in 1965.

Eclisse is one of the most celebrated projects in the history of Italian design of the twentieth century. Presented in 1965, it received the prestigious Compasso d'Oro in 1967 and today forms part of the permanent collections of important design museums, including MoMA in New York and the Triennale Design Museum in Milan.

The project stems from a solution that is as simple as it is ingenious: a fixed outer shell encloses a rotating inner shade, allowing manual adjustment of the lamp's opening. By rotating the inner diffuser it is possible to regulate the light emission, moving from a more direct light to a diffused, shaded light.

This version features the distinctive PVD Copper finish (Copper), obtained through a vacuum deposition process of the metal. The coppery surface gives Eclisse's essential geometry a more precious and contemporary character, while preserving the original design language of the sixties. Artemide describes the PVD process as a particularly clean coating technology and subsequently applies a transparent protective varnish to preserve the aesthetic quality of the finish.

The fixture can be used both as a table lamp and as a wall lamp, thanks to its compact and versatile structure.
