This elegantly polished freeform piece of Burmese nephrite jade presents itself in an intense, rich green color with nuanced shading. Fine, pale veins traverse the surface like natural life lines, giving the sculpture an organic, almost flowing grace.
The form itself resembles a rising, monolithic silhouette and underscores the archaic and powerful character of the stone. Especially impressive is the high density and quality of the material, which, under strong light, reveals a deeply luminous, nearly neon-like transparency — a characteristic feature of first-class nephrite from Burma.
