Two JVE Clockman figures in the Black Forest style, dating to 1940–1950, made of aluminium with mechanical clock mechanisms, no striking, each about 39 cm high, 20 cm wide and 12 cm deep, weighing 3 kg, produced in Germany, in good condition with signs of age and patina, not in working order.
Description from the seller
Two JVE clock figurines, a special set, designed as traditional itinerant clock sellers. Both figures are equipped with a mechanical clockwork on the chest with Roman numerals and a pendulum underneath. The different dial designs make it a beautifully matched duo.
The figures are made of painted metal and each stands on a sturdy base. On the bottom they are marked JVE. Over the years they have acquired a nicely aged character with visible wear and patina.
The clocks have stood in a café for a long time as decorative pieces, and therefore have a light smoke odor. The operation of both clocks has not been tested by me and is therefore offered as unknown. In one example one arm is slightly loose; it is present but hardly interferes when placing them down.
Dimensions per figure: approx. 39 cm high × 32 cm wide × 12 cm deep.
A decorative and characterful set for collectors of old mechanical clocks, automata, tin toys and special café- or interior decoration.
The condition and any signs of use are clearly visible in the photos.
Carefully and well packed for shipping.
