Authentique Balance Roberval, a classic weighing instrument recognizable by its mechanically operated weighing system patented by Gilles Roberval.
The balance has a base made of enamelled cast iron in a dark turquoise color, embossed with the markings "FORCE" and "5 KILOS".
It is topped by two movable circular metal platforms designed to hold the goods to be weighed and the brass weights.
Very popular in the 19th century and the early 20th century.
