Keramis Boch - Charles Catteau - Vase - 1289 - Earthenware - Vase BFK Catteau

This ribbed oval or egg-shaped glazed earthenware vase is an iconic production from the Art Deco period by the famous Belgian manufacturer Boch Frères Keramis. The model stands out for its spherical silhouette punctuated by wide horizontal relief bands in a beautiful bright azure blue, enhanced with gilded lines. These sections contrast with three circular registers on a cream enameled background, decorated with a continuous frieze of stylized red flowers with spiral centers, accompanied by black and gold foliage. This sophisticated decoration bears the hand-painted decor number D.5141 under the base, associated with the incised mold number 1289, corresponding to the workshop creations of the famous master ceramist and designer Charles Catteau for the 1930s collections. The underside of the piece also shows the official circular stamp of the manufacturer along with the painted letter F, guaranteeing its origin. The item has a height of approximately 21 cm, a maximum diameter of approximately 22 cm, and a collar diameter of 12.5 cm, with a total weight of 1650 g. This vase is in very good overall condition, well preserved with no cracks or chips. Only light, normal signs of use and minor superficial wear consistent with age are present, which do not detract from the overall aesthetic of this collector's item (see pictures).
