This modular tulip or flower-frog vase in glazed earthenware is a remarkable architectural creation from the Art Deco period by the Belgian manufacturer Boch Frères Keramis. This “skyscraper” or skyline-shaped model features a geometric stepped structure composed of a dominant central cylinder, flanked by four semi-circular peripheral compartments arranged asymmetrically on a circular base. The piece stands out for its mottled glaze in intense shades of chocolate brown, caramel, and cream, creating a highly textured organic surface effect evoking precious wood or varnished bark. The underside of the piece features the shape number 1068 deeply incised, alongside the official black circular stamp of Boch Frères La Louvière and the Belgian origin mark. This resolutely modernist silhouette belongs to the vase shapes created under the artistic direction and influence of the workshop of the famous master ceramicist Charles Catteau during the 1930s. The item has a height of 23 cm and a base diameter of 20.5 cm, with a total weight of 2 kg.
