Description from the seller

Large pair of Madagascan Cleoniceras ammonites – 19 cm – polished fossil and mineralized
Description
Stunning pair of fossil ammonites from Madagascar, cut along the axis and carefully polished to reveal the remarkable internal structure of the fossil.

The two halves show a beautiful symmetry when joined, allowing appreciation of the complete spiral as well as the numerous natural suture lines, particularly well defined.

The chambers of the ammonite are partially filled with natural crystalline mineralization, offering attractive contrasts between anthracite gray, silvery gray, white and black tones. Some cavities display a particularly aesthetic crystalline texture.

The fossil is presented in two complementary halves, each measuring about 19 cm in diameter and 2 cm in thickness.
