ALT Murano
6x4.5x4.5 cm.
Poste Italiane
Glass paperweight in Murano glass shaped like an egg, enriched by internal decorative work created with the famous millefiori murrine technique.
Form and structure: The paperweight features a classic oval shape, in solid, completely transparent glass that acts as a magnifying lens for the decorated inner section, see the last photos.
Internal workmanship: The hemispherical base is composed of concentric glass canes with geometric floral motifs (murrine) in tones of red, blue and white, partially arranged to form a carpet or an underwater dome.
The inscription "Alt Murano" refers to the ALT Murano furnace, a renowned glassworks active on the island of Murano, founded in the early 1970s by master glassmakers Gianfranco Albertini, Dino Lunetta and Ettore Todesco (from whose initials the acronym A.L.T. derives). The factory became famous in international collecting precisely for the production of very high-quality paperweights characterized by dense millefiori canes.
It is presented in perfect condition, bearing the ALT Murano mark; examine the photographs carefully as they are an integral part of the description.
Any duties or additional costs will be borne by the purchaser.
