This figurine is part of the famous and exclusive sculpture collection "I Preziosi '95" produced by the historic La Murrina glassworks.
Within this line, several sub-series were created with themes, such as the Series "Farm and Forest Animals": Launched in a limited edition in 1995, this line included various subjects from the animal world united by the same unmistakable decorative style.
Working in a "Massive" style: Each animal is shaped entirely by hand by master glassmakers without the use of molds. For this reason, every sculpture presents small variations in proportions, making it a unique piece.
Inclusion of Canes and Murrine: The colored core uses sections of multicolored glass canes placed side by side and fused together. This creates the characteristic visual effect of a seam or mosaic (also known as Millefiori) with intense tones ranging from blue, green and orange.
Application of 24-karat Gold Leaf: On the incandescent surface, a ultra-thin 24-karat gold leaf is applied while hot. During the subsequent blowing and shaping, the gold fragments creating a sparkling golden dust finish that covers the body and fades onto the transparent tail.
The signature: Under the base of these original pieces is usually the diamond-point engraved signature "la murrina" accompanied by the year "95".
