Cross - Gilt bronze - 1850-1900 - Orthodox Russian

A fine 19th-century Orthodox blessing/altar cross cast in gilded bronze with vibrant blue and white champlevé enamel accents. The front depicts the Crucifixion of Christ surrounded by Holy Figures (the Virgin Mary, Saint John, and angels) and topped by the Image Not Made by Hands (Mandylion).
Period: Second half of the 19th century (circa 1850–1890)
Material: Gilded bronze, champlevé enamel
Dimensions: 25 x 15 cm
Condition: Very good antique condition, beautifully preserved gilding on the back with authentic patina.
