Gufram - Piero Gilardi - Mirror - foamed polyurethane

"SFERA", a half-sphere made of molded polyurethane foam with a ground-facing mirror, finished in blue Guflac. Thanks to a counterweight, the sphere always returns to the correct position. Designed by the artist Piero Gilardi in 1972 for Gufram and now out of production. It measures 36 cm in diameter and weighs 3 kg. Excellent condition with some signs of age.

Gufram is a company of seating and furniture accessories founded in 1966, known for its influence in the field of industrial design and for helping to revolutionize the aesthetics of furniture. Their sculptural objects draw on influences from various artistic movements such as Pop Art, Conceptual Art, Illusionism, Naturalism, and Modern Design.
Gufram products are in the permanent collections of several European and American museums, such as: the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York, the Denver Art Museum, the Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum, the Centre Pompidou in Paris, the Triennale di Milano, and the Vitra Design Museum.
